Remember those lovely genies who grant wishes? Well, you’re one and you’ve just been emancipated from your restrictive lamp. You can give your three wishes to whomever you want. Who do you give your three wishes to, and why?
What popped into my head after reading this prompt is that saying that starts If Wishes Were Fishes…I couldn’t remember the rest so I googled it. I found this old 16th century English proverb and nursery rhyme:
If wishes were horses
beggars would ride
if turnips were bayonets
I would wear one by my side
Which doesn’t really make a lick of sense on the surface, but apparently means that wishes are useless and only action can get results. Bit of a downer eh? But true…
